At Compass Group we have partnered with Air New Zealand as one team to create an incomparable lounge experience that people value and remember and as such, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Permanent Full-Time Sous Chef to join our team at the stunning and award-winning Air NZ - Domestic Lounge Queenstown.

Ko o kawenga / Your responsibilities:

• Supervise kitchen operations and lead the team when the Head Chef is absent.
• Prepare, cook, and present food with precision and consistency.
• Manage stock ordering, rotation, and control to minimise waste and ensure freshness.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety standards.
• Develop menus that cater to special dietary and cultural needs, and plan catering for events.

If you are our ideal candidate you will:

• Be a hardworking team player who is able to work under pressure with a positive attitude
• Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen
• Have up to date knowledge of current Food Safety and Occupational Health and Safety legislation
• Hold food safety Unit Standards 167 and 168 or equivalent
• Demonstrate a passion for great food and quality.
• Proven reliability.
• Demonstrate experience of kitchen leadership and the ability to lead a team by building a motivated and cohesive unit.
