About the role
Chubb Life New Zealand is growing. With several new actuarial roles being added to our expanding team, this is a pivotal leadership opportunity for someone who wants to play a defining role in our next chapter. As Head of Actuarial Performance, Reporting & Forecasting, you'll lead the function responsible for valuation, forecasting, and performance reporting at a time of real momentum and ambition.
You'll bring deep technical expertise and pair it with commercial sharpness, ensuring timely, accurate, high-quality delivery of statutory, shareholder, and management reporting. This is a visible, influential role that partners closely with the CFO, Chief Actuary, and regional teams to turn actuarial results into strategic insight that drives business performance.
With our goal to become the number one provider in the market, you'll help shape planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes that directly influence key business decisions, while maintaining robust governance and compliance across all reporting activity.
As we scale, you'll build strong, high-impact working relationships across global finance stakeholders, internal and external auditors, regulatory bodies, and key external partners. You'll be a key leader in a team that is transforming, elevating capability, and setting a new standard for excellence.
Base yourself in our new Wellington office or join us in Takapuna and move with us to our new offices in mid 2026.
In this key role you'll
- Lead and own end-to-end actuarial reporting, valuation, and forecasting processes, ensuring timely, accurate delivery of results.
- Provide strategic insights to senior leadership and the Board, turning complex data into clear, actionable guidance that supports growth and performance ambitions.
- Shape and uplift systems, tools, and processes as we expand our capability and scale our actuarial function.
- Build capability across the team, contributing to a high-performing and future-ready actuarial function.
- Play a central role in our journey to become a market leader, contributing expertise, ambition, and a desire to make real impact.
To be successful and grow in this role, you will ideally bring the following
- Qualified actuary (FIAA, FSA, FIA, or equivalent) with 10+ years' experience in life insurance or financial services.
- Proven leadership in actuarial reporting, forecasting, valuation, and financial modelling in complex environments.
- Strong command of IFRS, NZ GAAP & US GAAP reporting, with the ability to interpret and apply regulatory frameworks.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and communication skill, with proven ability to influence execs and simplify complexity.
- A forward-looking mindset, embracing change, automation and opportunities to modernise tools, processes and insight delivery.
