About the opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and driven Actuarial Analyst to join our collaborative and supportive Actuarial team in the Capital & Reinsurance space. In the role, you will work closely with the wider Actuarial and Finance team, as well as other key stakeholders in the business. You will make a tangible impact on our company's financial stability and gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment.

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will:

  • Develop and enhance capital modelling and reporting, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our regulatory solvency reporting and internal capital assessments
  • Take ownership of reinsurance processes, including monthly reinsurance calculations, quarterly statements and on-going treaty maintenance
  • Identify and implement process improvements that boost accuracy and reduce manual work
  • Collaborate with Finance, Actuarial, and Pricing teams to enhance workflows, resolve issues, and improve financial reporting.
  • Contribute to the execution of the organisation's reinsurance strategy
  • Provide support for the presentation of solvency results and drivers clearly to stakeholders, driving informed business decisions.
  • Learn and grow with support from expert leadership in both technical and commercial areas

About you

You are an actuarial analyst or insurance professional with up to 3 years of experience in insurance or financial services, or a recent graduate with excellent analytical skills and a background in actuarial science, mathematics or statistics. You are passionate about building a career in actuarial science, in areas such as valuation, capital, reinsurance or pricing.

Besides your technical expertise, you bring strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly and effectively.

Attributes that will help you succeed:

  • Tertiary qualification in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or a relevant discipline
  • A strong commitment to pursuing actuarial certification
  • Familiarity with programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL—or a keen willingness to learn
  • Analytical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Great attention to detail and a dedication to producing high quality work
  • Effective time management, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines
