Head of Retail

Superette is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Retail to lead our store network during a maternity fixed term contract period of 11-12 months. This is a pivotal leadership role, responsible for inspiring and guiding our Store Managers and their teams to deliver sales growth, operational excellence, and unforgettable world class customer experiences.

You'll play a key role in driving strategic initiatives, elevating team performance, and ensuring the Superette brand experience is consistently delivered across all 9 stores.

Details: Maternity Cover - Fixed term contract  Duration: Starting prior to Christmas ideally, through to October 2026  Full time: Monday - Friday | Based in Superette HQ - Takapuna, Auckland 

Snippet of the role:Oversee retail performance to achieve sales, margin, and NPS/Google review targets.

Lead, coach, and mentor Store Managers to build high-performing, engaged teams.

Champion operational excellence through resourcing, compliance, and process improvements.

Drive customer experience initiatives that strengthen relationships and brand loyalty.

Partner with Directors and marketing to align retail, brand, and business goals.

Lead retail projects including refits, new openings, and health & safety standards.

Provide reporting, insights, and strategic recommendations to support growth.

What you'll bring?

5+ years' experience in multi-site retail management.

Proven ability to drive sales, manage budgets, and optimise operations.

Strong commercial and strategic mindset.

A natural leader, mentor, and communicator with high resilience and energy.

Expertise in customer experience, team development, and merchandising.

Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced environment.

Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
