About the role

Skillford and co limited is seeking experienced Drainlayers / Earthworks Foreman to join our team in Christchurch Central Canterbury. This is a full-time position responsible for overseeing and coordinating all aspects of drainage and earthworks projects, ensuring the timely and efficient completion of work to the highest quality standards.

What you'll be doing

  1. Manage and oversee drainage and earthworks crews, allocating resources and tasks to meet project timelines and objectives
  2. Liaise with clients, subcontractors and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and effective coordination of work
  3. Monitor progress, identify and resolve any issues or challenges that arise
  4. Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant regulations, safety standards and company policies
  5. Provide on-site training and mentorship to crew members to develop their skills and expertise
  6. Maintain detailed records and documentation throughout the project lifecycle
  7. Support the wider construction team as needed to deliver successful project outcomes

What we're looking for

  1. Extensive experience as a Drainlayer / Earthworks Foreman, with a proven track record of leading successful projects
  2. Strong technical knowledge of drainage and earthworks processes, materials and equipment
  3. Excellent organisational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise with a wide range of stakeholders
  5. A keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of quality and safety
  6. Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
  7. Relevant qualifications and certifications in construction, civil engineering or a related field
