With increased forward workload, SBA Civil is looking for support over a range of positions including Drainlayer (certification ideal), Operators (highly skilled with GPS, final trim and capable of benching/ drainage operating), All-rounders – Ideally Class 2-4 who are keen to work on the ground, drain-laying, installing manholes, upskilling on machines etc.

The Offer:

$30-$40 per hour depending on who you are and what experience you bring, top end rate is a certified or registered drainlayer capable of working in isolation with minimal supervision.

Learning, development training and mentoring with the plan to become Project Manager

The key with SBA Civil is that we are diverse and we want our people to be capable of all aspects of civil construction – Earthworks, retaining walls, 3-water installation, roading and pavement preparation, concrete works etc. If you are someone who only likes one aspect of civil construction, then this company is not for you.

The ideal candidate:

Certified Drainlayer or Registered Drainlayer

Infrastructure and land development experience

A go getter with a good attitude who does not like sitting down. We expect self-motivation and good energy to get in and get a good day's work done.

Someone who thinks ahead and is proactive. I.e. can move onto another task unsupervised to ensure productivity is being kept.

Someone who has transport too and from work and can be relied on (noting certified drainlayers or leading hands will get a work vehicle).

Someone not afraid to get stuck in and do the mahi.

Understands working in and around live traffic under traffic management.

Deep trench drainage and use of trench-shield experience, including dewatering and water controls.

Keen to be an allrounder and multi-disciplined where needed.

A great team player with the ability to motivate and lead teams on site.

Ability to plan tasks efficiently, including allocation of plant and labour resources and materials.

Appreciation of Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements in the Civil industry
