The SMARDT team brings over 25 years of experience working with power electronics, magnetic bearing technology, and oil-free centrifugal chillers. Headquartered in Montreal, SMARDT also has a presence in the United States, Europe, Australia, and China.

Reporting to the Group IT Director - Infrastructure & Security, the System/Network Administrator will be responsible for maintaining, configuring, and supporting the networks and related business systems throughout our sites globally, but specifically in the Asia-Pacific region. He/she will be helping the Infrastructure and Security team in the security operations, infrastructure management and user support.

The position is required for our establishment located in Singapore. This person will be working closely with the Group Senior System Administrator located in Montral, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Improve, deploy, manage, support, troubleshoot & resolve the organizations network infrastructure (MS Azure, ERP, Databases...), according to group standards
  • Deploy and maintain standardized configurations for endpoints computers and infrastructure
  • Collaborate with global support teams to escalate and resolve complex technical issues
  • Assist the rest of the IT team for the technical aspects in the deployment of software or IT solutions
  • Ensure security hardening of the infrastructure and monitor it constantly
  • Ensure that the network is secure, reliable, and efficient, and that the users have access to the resources they need
  • Ensure the availability and performance of cloud-based solutions: virtual network, subnet, and security group setup, paired with troubleshooting connectivity challenges
  • Document network procedures and infrastructure topology
  • Provide technical support to users for hardware, software, and network issues
  • Respond to and resolve IT service requests and incidents in a timely manner
  • Utilize the Manage Engine suite of tools to monitor, manage, and maintain IT infrastructure
  • Adhere to ITIL best practices for incident management, problem management, and change management
  • Document and maintain accurate records of IT support activities and resolutions
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on IT-related topics
  • Maintain and troubleshoot storage networks and solutions
  • Install new hardware and software
  • Communicate events effectively with the global Infrastructure & Security team.

QUALIFICATION

  • 5+ years in Systems & network administration
  • 1+ years in network security management
  • Microsoft Azure Certification or relevant field experience is a plus
  • In depth understanding all aspects of Infrastructure support and operations
  • Good understanding of network and information security best practice
  • User support experience
  • Degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering is required, or Infrastructure management related training
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate fluently in Chinese (Mandarin) and English is a must
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Results orientated with ability to plan and deliver against project deadlines
  • Resilient, self-motivated and able to work well under pressure
  • Technical mindset
  • Customer-focused with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with a variety of internal users and business partners.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask
  • An appreciation of and an ability to positively resolve issues arising from different cultures
  • Capacity to perform in a constantly evolving enterprise
