Headway supports and educates people living with concussion and brain injury - and the families, whānau, and communities around them. Because concussion can happen to anyone, and brain injury is one of the leading causes of long-term disability in Aotearoa, our mission is to make sure everyone has the knowledge and confidence to recognise, respond to, and prevent it. We're here to reduce the impact and incidence of brain injury through information, education, and connection.

We're looking for a Navigator + Educator who is passionate about making a difference through guiding those impacted and educating the wider community.

About the role

This is a diverse and rewarding role, combining one-to-one navigation support with the delivery of engaging, evidence-informed education sessions and workshops. You'll help people develop skills to manage their injury, connect them to the right supports, and empower communities, workplaces, and healthcare teams to better recognise, respond to, and prevent concussion and brain injury.

No two days will look the same - one day you might be running a workshop for school staff or a corporate workplace, and the next you'll be supporting someone newly diagnosed with concussion to find their next step forward.

You'll join a small, collaborative, and values-driven team that believes in doing meaningful work well.

What you'll bring

  • Experience in health, education, health promotion, or community engagement.
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills - confident leading groups and connecting with people.
  • Empathy, adaptability, and a genuine commitment to empowering others.
  • Understanding of concussion or brain injury - or a desire and commitment to learn.
  • A collaborative spirit - someone who works well with others, is ready to jump in to make things happen, and brings positive energy.
