We're seeking an experienced and visionary Senior Manager - Transnational Education to lead the development, coordination, and delivery of AUT's transnational education portfolio.

This is a pivotal leadership role for someone passionate about global partnerships, academic excellence, and expanding educational access across borders.

Ngā haepapa matua | Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Director International, you'll lead AUT's TNE strategy and operations — driving growth, quality, and innovation in our offshore education partnerships. You'll work collaboratively across faculties and professional services to design, deliver, and sustain high-quality international programmes aligned with AUT's global strategy.

You will:

• Lead the implementation of AUT's TNE strategic plan to support international growth.
• Identify, negotiate, and manage successful offshore partnerships with universities, governments, and industry.
• Develop governance and operational frameworks for partnership delivery.
• Ensure compliance with academic quality and regulatory requirements in New Zealand and partner countries.
• Oversee financial and performance reporting, ensuring sustainable outcomes.
• Foster a high-performing, collaborative international team that embodies AUT's values of Integrity, Respect and Compassion (Tika, Pono me Aroha).

This role operates within a complex global landscape, requiring commercial acumen, cultural sensitivity, and strong relationship-building skills across diverse markets.

Ko wai koe | About you

You'll be a seasoned international education professional with:

• At least seven years' experience in higher education, including five years managing TNE partnerships.
• A proven record of strategic leadership, team management, and delivering measurable outcomes in an international context.
• Strong skills in negotiation, relationship management, quality assurance, and financial planning.
• The ability to balance academic integrity with commercial viability.
• A deep understanding of global education systems, regulations, and cross-cultural dynamics.
