**About the Opportunity**

This is a leadership role where you will be supporting the Performance Team at Auckland South Corrections Facility (ASCF). This is a high-performing, close-knit team and plays a crucial role in the legal and compliance operations of the facility.

**What you’ll be doing**
- You will be monitoring and analysing performance data
- Supporting and facilitating timely and accurate data collection
- Working alongside Assistant Directors and / or his / her delegated persons to improve performance management processes and systems
- Develop a self-audit system for ASCF
- Undertaking ‘health checks’, audits and detailed quality assurance
- Writing performance reports and developing presentations
- Liaising with front-line staff on compliance issues
- Where necessary, in collaboration with operational managers, facilitating or managing training to improve performance
- On the basis of performance data and operational feedback, suggest areas for innovation
- Oversee innovation process (gathering ideas, developing business cases, managing approvals process, ensuring implementations)
- Liaising with Department of Corrections on statutory performance reports and other ad hoc queries
- Developing expertise of contractual and legislative compliance needs for ASCF
- Developing a dashboard for key contract measurable, alongside an agreed monthly report template, that details performance month to date

**About you - your ideal skills & experience**
- To be successful in this role you will have previous experience in a compliance or audit role, ideally within a custodial setting
- Demonstrated competence in developing and maintaining computerised and manual information and / or recording systems
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and determine and allocate work priorities under direction, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and to work independently without supervision
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to enable effective communication with stakeholders (internal and external) - setting expectations, negotiating prioritising etc.
- Flexibility and Focus - highly motivated, results-oriented performer who can show adaptability in their approach to work
- Self-learner - shows a willingness and keenness to learn
- Innovation - draws on innovation and experience to problem solve, learning new skills in order to retain competitive advantage, while balancing the business risks involved with innovation
- You will have demonstrated competence in the operation of a computer system, utilising a range of software packages, especially Excel and Access database
- Integrity - displays an approach to their work that shows high personal ethics and integrity and meets the ethical standards required by the company.
- This is a position of trust and responsibility and to support this we will conduct a thorough probity assessment, which includes a police check as an essential selection component for this role._
