About Us
You know us Briscoes Homeware and Rebel Sport are household names across New Zealand. The Role
We're looking for an experienced Inbound Department Manager to lead all inbound operations in our DC. This role is critical to ensuring accurate and timely receipting, inspection, and processing of incoming goods. You'll manage a team of Inbound team members, including a Team Leader and Administrator, and oversee everything from container planning and devanning to SKU data capture and compliance with MPI standards.
Your focus will be on operational excellence, safety, and continuous improvement. You'll work closely with suppliers, 3PL providers, and internal teams to optimise performance and deliver on service targets.
This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Your Day-to-Day
- Plan container movements and labour to meet daily volume demands
- Lead and coach the inbound team, driving a culture of accountability and safety
- Oversee receipting, SKU data capture, and inventory accuracy
- Manage devanning operations and ensure compliance with MPI regulations
- Coordinate with suppliers and 3PL providers to meet service level agreements
- Monitor KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain compliance, documentation, and audit readiness
- Collaborate with other departments to balance workloads and reallocate staff
- Conduct performance conversations backed by data, document appropriately, and manage investigations
- Handle recruitment tasks: job postings in Snaphire, screening, and first interviews
- Manage compliance conversations on lateness, sickness (including RTW), KPI performance, and incident investigations
- Identify process duplication and work with the CI Manager to test changes and update SOPs
- Champion health and safety across all inbound operations
What You Bring
- 7–8 years' experience in inbound logistics or warehouse management, ideally in retail
- 2–3 years' experience managing teams, including coaching and performance management
- Strong leadership skills and ability to manage competing priorities
- Proven ability in container planning, devanning coordination, and managing 3PL relationships
- Strong understanding of MPI regulations and maintaining Approved Transitional Facility compliance
- Experience in labour forecasting, resource planning, and managing KPIs
- Proficiency in warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Analytical mindset and proven ability to deliver results under pressure
If you're a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and wants to play a key role in shaping the future of Briscoe Group's supply chain, we'd love to hear from you.
