**_ The role / Te mahi_**
This newly created role will focus on assisting students in developing independent learning skills through one-on-one consultations, workshops, and initiatives designed to enhance their transition, retention, and overall academic performance.
As a Learning Advisor, you will report to the Team Leader of Learning Advisors. Your responsibilities will include designing workshops, seminars, and other learning opportunities tailored to meet the range of learning needs of our students across various environments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Conducting consultations and designing workshops to support diverse student learning needs with a strong focus on postgraduate students.
- Creation of tailored learning opportunities for equity groups, such as Māori, Pacific, and students with disabilities.
- Collaborating with staff and services to enhance student learning and contribute to peer-supported programmes.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- A postgraduate qualification (preferably a PhD).
- Knowledge of the tertiary environment and familiarity with research on student learning in Higher Education.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and spoken communication.

This is a permanent, part-time (18.75 hours per week) position, based in Wellington. Ideally, we would like this role to start early February 2025.
The appointment range for this role is $75,380 to $84,656. Top of range $94,075 per annum.
We offer competitive salary, 5 weeks’ annual leave (pro rata), a 6.75% superannuation scheme, and excellent professional development opportunities.
