**Maintenance Supervisor**

Port Otago Group’s business includes a regional container terminal, bulk port activities, cruise and property investment and development. We service South Canterbury, Otago, and Southland, working with customers to streamline their supply chains. Our culture is hands-on, safety focused and encourages continuous improvement.

**About this opportunity**:
We’re looking to strengthen our Maintenance Team by appointing a new leader in the maintenance workshop. You may already be an experienced supervisor or looking for a development opportunity to move forward in your career into a leadership role, either way you’ll have heavy machinery experience (or similar) under your belt.
- Support the team by providing technical expertise on how best to repair machinery Provide effective coaching and support to team members so that they are able to turn up and deliver their best every day
- Ensure the team delivers safe and well documented maintenance services across a range of critical port assets including the heavy diesel mobile fleet, ship-to-shore cranes, and specialist ancillary port equipment.
- Ensure work is completed to schedule and compliance standards so that our assets are available for operations as needed

**Some of the qualities we are looking for**:

- Relevant trade skills with work experience in a heavy vehicle industry, or similar
- Leadership experience or the drive and attributes needed to be a leader in a busy technical team environment
- Ability to make decisions and work well within a team
- A true passion for Health & Safety - you will need to lead your team to ensure a high level of Health and Safety culture.
- Follows best practices for maintenance record keeping
- Full clean NZ drivers licence is essential
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organisational and operational skills
- Positive work ethic and attitude
- Heavy mobile fleet and crane maintenance experience (an advantage)
