Downer holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. This involves the proactive management and delivery to the national portfolio of facilities including 16 prisons, 98 courts and 141 community correctional sites. This contract underpins the provision of availability of facilities to support core Government services.

We now have an opportunity for a **Senior **Team Leader to join our team in Auckland based at the Mt Eden Corrections Facility. **This position is full time, with a guaranteed min 40 hours per week and will be responsible for asset maintenance, team leadership and delivering excellent customer service to our client.

Prisons are sometimes challenging work environments, so you must be confident and able to conduct yourself professionally at all times. You will also understand the 24/7 nature of a prison site and be prepared to sometimes manage jobs and situations after hours.

Your day-to-day duties will include:

- Ensuring a safe and Zero Harm environment at the site.
- A ‘hands-on’ approach, and you will be required to assist in the site-specific deliverables.
- Proving direction and leadership to the internal self-delivery team (technicians).
- Supporting of the Job Scheduler in the scheduling and planning of the activities of the internal self-delivery team and subcontractors to ensure safe, timely and cost-effective completion.
- Promoting strong collaborative customer relationships with positive interactions and playing a key support function in the absence of the Site Manager.
- Delivering services and leading people in accordance with our Downer Values.

**Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills**
- Relevant trades background and qualifications (i.e.. electrical, building, plumbing HVAC)
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a trade environments and/or within facilities management industry
- Demonstrated experience in operational leadership of a multi trade service delivery team.
- Experience driving operational activities to ensure quality workmanship is achieved, jobs are completed to schedule and on time and rework is minimised.
- Computer literate, including MS Outlook and MS Excel;
- Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015;
- Hold current, full driver’s license - essential
