Our Opportunity
We are looking for a Shift Engineer to join our dedicated Yoplait - Palmerston North team. You will be an integral member of the Engineering team and make a strong contribution to the overall performance at the site. Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will be required to carry out scheduled and preventative maintenance as well as unplanned maintenance tasks (breakdowns). This position is on a rotating shift pattern. 8 hours 5 days a week, rotating weekly from days to afternoons, to nights.

**Shift pattern**:
This role is 40 hours per week Monday to Friday - some weekend work may be required on occasion
- Day: 08:00 - 16:00 Monday - Friday
- Night: 00:00 - 08:00 Monday - Friday
- Afternoon: 16:00 - 00:00 Monday - Friday

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that the site is run efficiently with effective engineering solutions and recommendations
- That downtime on the plant is reduced via a proactive approach
- Assist in the ongoing running of the engineering workshop, ensuring tidy and effective at all times
- Initiate improvements in Maintenance Practices, Systems, and Procedures, leading to Continuous Improvements in Reliability, Quality, Cost, GMP and Customer Service
- Assist with analysing effective R&M spending
- Adhere to all Health and safety procedures and support in ongoing training in this space
- Support all areas of plant maintenance as required

**To be successful in this role you will need**:

- Proven experience working in a maintenance environment
- 5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment in a variety of products and processes (FMCG) is advantageous and experience in the Dairy industry is highly desirable
- All-rounder - knowledge of services such as water/steam/air and building compliance
