Look no further We are expanding, and we are on the lookout for skilled individuals like you to join our team - Join a friendly and supportive team - Palmerston North Based - Busy and challenging role - Monday to Sunday (Day shift 0600 to 1600 OR Evening shift 1400 to 0030 hrs) - $36.38 - $42.20 hour *Depending on experience* We are currently looking for a Level 4 or Level 5 Mechanical Engineer. The primary purpose of this role is to undertake fault finding, maintenance and repair of Locomotives and other associated vehicles in accordance with the relevant codes, with the view to improve reliability and availability of the fleet. This is a hands-on role, working alongside other mechanical engineers in a team environment. **To be successful in this role, you will have**: - Trade Qualified Level 4 or 5 as electrical, diesel, mechanical, automotive mechanic or similar - Must have your own tools - Prior experience in heavy industry or automobile industry experience and machine upgrades, or experience in locomotives, ships or similar. - Ability to repair and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and safety equipment - Strong capability to thrive under pressure and work to deadlines - Have a "can do" attitude - A strong commitment to Zero Harm in the workplace - Previous Railway experience will be advantageous You will need to have a reasonable level of physical fitness to keep up with the demands of this position, and you will work with a focus on health and safety.
