We have a rare opening in our Wellington-based team, for an experienced Team Manager - Payroll.
Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Manager, to provide excellent customer service and expert pay advice and guidance across the End to End Payroll Service to our NZ Post leaders and employees.
A key function is providing leadership, workload management and customer service expertise to the Payroll team of six within NZ, and also the Payroll Team of 13 in our outsourced contract in Manila.
This role also provides critical management interface between payroll and other business units and relevant external parties (i.e. our payroll vendor, IR, third party vendors and service organisations).
Mōu - About you
To succeed in this role, you will be used to complex Payroll in a large organisation. In addition, you will bring strength of leadership, to guide, coach and develop your team towards excellence.
Complimentary to these technical skills is the ability to work with ambiguity, advanced problem-solving skills, focus on process improvement and collaboration, and strong personal leadership qualities.

**To be successful in this role, you'll need to demonstrate**:

- 5+ years of Payroll team management
- Strong experience of complex End to End payroll
- Deep understanding of employment legislation
- Strong problem-solving, with a continuous improvement lens
- Strong personal leadership skills - focus and drive, positive attitude, high energy and ability to bring a team together
- Ability to build empathetic, value add and trusted relationships in all interactions.
- Experience with Project work and remediations
