The company are a very successful transport company delivering essential services throughout NZ.
They're looking for someone unique to lead and take responsibility for their night shift crew and work flow.
This is a newly created role that is critical to the business because their night shift to operate at the same level as day shift.
You will manage the night shift operation, ensuring that trucks are loaded and unloaded at the right times, the pick pack teams are keeping up with demand.
From Thursday to Monday, 6pm-4am you will be required to:
- Run toolbox meetings, provide a comprehensive handover to the day shift
- Ensure that everyone is following the operational plan
- Manager a team of around 30 staff with 4 direct reports
- Ensure there is a seamless operation between days and nights, with just as much grunt as the day shift
**Skills & Experience**:
- Strong Leadership of a team in an operational environment
- Industry experience from Transport or Warehousing or 3PL
- Ideally from a temperature controlled environment
**Best fit/culture**:
- Strong Leadership
- Process orientated
- Great at planning and getting others to execute those plans
- Flexible with changing requirements
- Ability to delegate but willing and able to muck in when required
