Did you know, that together Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards have the largest workforce in the South Island and the 6th largest in NZ? The two DHBs also share several essential business services like Human Resources (HR), or as we call it People & Capability. The HR Shared Service (HRSS) department pays people, supports rostering, creates contracts and other important legal stuff as well as helping our people when they have questions about their employment. It’s exciting stuff and we’re expanding to support the growth and delivery of the service. We’re increasing the size of our teams and also introducing some new roles.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**

**Key responsibilities of this role include**:

- Establishing and monitoring service levels and improvements across functions
- Using data and process analysis to build an understanding of working practice, results and potential opportunities
- Leading the department’s reporting function, and assessing potential opportunities and business cases
- Identifying and leading continuous improvement steps, driven by data and results
- Collaboratively work with the HRSS Leadership team and other support teams such as Technology and Finance to establish and deliver improvements
- Supporting the HRSS Leadership Team to establish Service Level Agreements and Key Performance Indicators across the Department
- Collaborating with the HRSS Manager to define operating models, plans and priorities
- Working closely with stakeholders around projects and initiatives that impact HRSS
- Maintaining a holistic strategic perspective across the HR Shared Service Department

This role would suit someone who enjoys work collaboratively with various stakeholders across the business. The environment is fast paced and challenging, therefore you should be resilient and adaptable. This role requires someone who has good project management skills as well as leadership and influencing skills.

Your skills will include:

- Experience in quality-based analysis or management roles
- Knowledge of HR practises, such as payroll, rostering and HR processes and systems
- A background working in a large, complex and diverse environment would be advantageous
- Analytical and strategic skills
- Interpersonal and influencing skills
- Report writing skills, based on operational data
- A relevant tertiary qualification in business, HR, computer science or related discipline
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- A background in the Health Industry would be advantageous
