Did you know, that together Canterbury and West Coast District Health Boards have the largest workforce in the South Island and the 6th largest in NZ? The two DHBs also share several essential business services like Human Resources (HR), or as we call it People & Capability. The HR Shared Service (HRSS) department pays people, supports rostering, creates contracts and other important legal stuff as well as helping our people when they have questions about their employment. It’s exciting stuff and we’re expanding to support the growth and delivery of the service. We’re increasing the size of our teams and also introducing some new roles.

**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
The Rostering Support Team works mostly behind the scenes at CDHB, making sure when it comes to paying people, we know who worked what and when. Their mahi (work) is critical to making sure our people are paid accurately and on time. Whilst clinical teams update and submit their rosters, this team picks up all the things which are less run of the mill, including:
- Hands-on support helping clinical areas to improve time and attendance recording
- Keeping the rostering system up to date with key employee information and being the gatekeepers of the quality of information
- Fixing information when things have been forgotten or have changed (exceptions)
- Helping managers to work through problems and queries
Reporting to the Rostering Support Team Lead, you will be an integral part of both the team and the wider HRSS department.

HRSS supports the largest workforce in the South Island so being able to work in a complex environment is important. We need someone with excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills as well as great attention to detail. To be successful in this role, you should be able to work in a high pressure and changing environment as well as the drive and determination to deliver excellent customer service.

Your skills will include:
- Accurate numeracy and keyboard skills
- Microsoft Office Skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Organisational and time management skills to meet tight deadlines
- A customer service approach to your work and contribute positively to the team
- A background in the Health Industry would be advantageous
