We’re looking for a Senior Policy Planner to join our knowledgeable and high performing team. **What you’ll be doing**

A senior role, you’ll be leading research, drafting policies and guidelines and monitoring outcomes. You’ll also advise Council on urban and rural planning policy and RMA matters and respond to District Plan enquiries.
- The role will involve:_
- Preparing briefs of work and manages project undertaken by Council staff and consultants
- Preparing evidence for Council and Environment Court hearings
- Fostering a collaborative team environment with internal contacts
- Ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept

**What you’ll bring to the role**

You’ll have a number of years working in a similar role and will enjoy seeing the outcomes of the work you do. You’ll possess strong communication skills and will be confident and capable of presenting to peers and the public. A strong relationship builder and natural people person, you’ll relate well to a wide range of people.
- To best succeed in this role, you’ll have:_
- A tertiary qualification in planning or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of the Resource Management Act and allied legislation
- Experience with carrying out GIS analysis and mapping
- Experience with district plan reviews in a local government environment
