**Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role**
Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting a Mata ahupae - Administrator to join Te Herenga Waka University Press (THWUP) on a permanent, full-time basis.
The role will be responsible for to administering the operations of the Press, including sales, royalties, invoices, contracts, stock, databases and website maintenance, and overseeing the smooth running of the THWUP office. The Mata ahupae - Administrator will also assist the Managing Editor in the management of production, and the Publicist in publicity and marketing.
Key responsibilities:
- Process invoices and payments, and general correspondence.
- Collate sales figures and process royalty statements and payments.
- Manage print orders, shipping and stock levels.
- Provide data to distributors and trade organisations.
- Manage author and third-party contracts and licences.
- Contribute to the maintenance and development of the website.
- Contribute to the management of the production schedule.

Key requirements:
- Direct experience in New Zealand publishing and bookselling.
- Direct experience and demonstrated skills in administration.
- Demonstrated excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated mastery of, or aptitude to learn, software and systems used in the role (including MS Word, Excel, Oracle, Stison, Nielsen Bookdata, etc).
- Experience in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong organisational and planning skills.
- Ability to occasionally work outside normal office hours, e.g. evenings or weekends to help run or attend events.
