**Firstly, a bit about us**:
Airways New Zealand provides air traffic management services across 30 million square kilometres - one of the largest areas of airspace in the world. Aviation is evolving rapidly and we continue to implement new technology for domestic and international customers. Within New Zealand, we operate aerodrome control services or flight information services at 19 locations throughout the country.
**About the role**:
We are looking for a CNS Technician at any level (Technician, Senior, Principal) to join the South Island Maintenance communications, navigation and surveillance (CNS) team. The focus of your role will be fault rectification, preventative maintenance and installation of CNS and airfield systems at an advanced technical level across the spectacular South Island region.
**To be successful in this role you will**:
- Hold a Bachelor Engineering qualification, or equivalent, and an Electrical Services Technician Practising License.
- Be a collaborative team member, who is comfortable briefing and supervising contractors.
- Have experience in buildings and site maintenance work is essential and you must be safety focussed with excellent operational and situational awareness and personal health, including the ability to climb structures with confidence, work at heights and in a variety of weather conditions.
**Opportunities abound in this role**:
Outside of the exposure to a variety of project work, Airways also offers professional growth through the exposure to new technologies in an ever-changing industry. Add the knowledge base of the wide team that supports you, and the additional lifestyle benefits on offer, it’s a very attractive package.
There will be a requirement for travel to work in locations throughout the South Island, and at times night or weekend work may be necessary to meet operational requirements. Once competencies have been achieved, participation in a Standby Roster (typically one week in four) for out of normal working hour’s fault repair is also required.
**Our Values**:
Airways is committed to reflecting the diversity of Aotearoa and creating a diverse, equitable and inclusive workplace where people feel they belong and can be their authentic self at work. To achieve this, we are working hard to gain our Rainbow Tick Accreditation to ensure Airways is a safe and welcoming workplace for all employees.
**What’s next?**
Don’t miss this opportunity to be at the heart of aviation while engaging with a team of talented, technology professionals.
