**About the Role**

The national Female Pelvic Mesh Service supports women experiencing complications from surgical mesh. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team delivering equitable, trauma-informed, culturally safe care that honours Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

As a Surgical Mesh Health Navigator, you will be a consistent point of contact for women and their whānau, coordinating care across hospital, community and ACC-funded services, and ensuring each person's story is heard once and carried with dignity through their journey. You will:

- Hold an active caseload and guide patients through assessment, investigations, planned care and recovery.
- Advocate for consumers, identify barriers to access, and broker solutions across primary, community, NGO and government agencies (including ACC).
- Prepare, document and convey each woman's mesh journey for the MDT and be the voice of the consumer at MDM's.
- Provide clear information about to support patients navigate decisions about treatment options, expectations and self-management.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, CNS, allied health and booking/scheduling teams; contribute to service improvement and resources.
- Champion equity and Te Tiriti obligations in everyday practice.

**About You**

You're an empathetic, organised connector who communicates with clarity and warmth, even in complex situations.

You bring:

- **Qualifications**: Tertiary health or social services qualification is preferred, at a minimum you will have a Health & Wellbeing (Social & Community) Level 4 (or demonstrate equivalent experience).
- **Experience**: Working in complex health settings; handling sensitive clinical/admin information; strong time-management.
- **Knowledge**: NZ health system (including Te Whatu Ora reforms), medical/surgical terminology, and available health/community resources.
- **Skills**: Advanced communication and emotional intelligence; relationship building across sectors; digital literacy (MS Office).
