As the gate way to the Bay of Plenty Region, for both business and tourism purposes, the Rotorua Airport is a business hub for many local tourist attractions and service functions, and acts as a pivotal component in the infrastructure of our local economy.

On behalf of the Rotorua Airport we are now recruiting for an experienced and capable Fire and Operations Manager to lead a team of established and dedicated safety professionals. You will maintain a safe and efficient airport operation through strong leadership and clear direction; promote an effective safety culture by having a proactive approach to safety management and health and safety and ensure a fully compliant airport operational framework. Ensuring well-maintained facilities including aeronautical infrastructure and airport security are also part of the role. We are looking for an experienced leader who demonstrates enthusiasm and pride in what they do, with the ability to both lead and develop a high performing team to work alongside them.

The Fire and Operations team performs a wide variety of tasks, including medical callouts, runway inspections, general ground, building and vehicle maintenance, and reporting functions to ensure that the airport is operated and maintained in accordance with Airport standards and Civil Aviation Authority regulations. This is an exciting and diverse opportunity for the right individual to be part of a progressive and growing organisation that offers opportunity for ongoing development.

Key accountabilities include;
- Manage Airport Fire and Operational responsibilities
- Ensure a robust and safe airport environment
- Provision of strong leadership and develop capability within the Fire & Operations team
- Lead and drive initiatives across the airport
- Emergency and Operational planning
- Operations including ground, vehicle, building and aerodrome operational surface areas

This is a key role on the management team that will take ownership of fire and operations for the Airport. It is an exciting opportunity to add lasting value to a community asset.
