Toi Ohomai delivers quality vocational education and training to both domestic and international students, across five main campuses in Rotorua, Tauranga, Taupō, Tokoroa and Whakatāne, and numerous delivery sites across the Bay of Plenty and South Waikato.

The Operations Coordinator coordinates the operations of the Facilities team to deliver facilities, spaces and assets which are clean, accessible, operational, fit-for-purpose and safe. This includes responsibility for Health and Safety in relation to buildings, grounds, contractors, hazardous goods. It also includes an interest in energy management and environmental sustainability.

The Operations Coordinator will have a service-heart keen to provide excellent customer service to Toi Ohomai staff, students and visitors. They will maintain calm and respectful communication with team members, contractors and customers at all times.

This position sets the culture, tone and scene for how the Facilities team operates. Well-coordinated prioritisations and delegation of jobs are required to ensure that urgent matters are attended to immediately and non-urgent jobs are scheduled appropriately.

The person in this role will be an exceptional multi
- tasker who remains calm juggling the multiple issues that comes across their desk on an hourly basis and won't get flustered by a lot of things happening at the same time.

The Operations Coordinator needs to problem solve and be resourceful in finding alternative solutions at short notice. Projects will be coordinated from planning, implementation up to review stage, avoiding disruption to the business as far as possible. First response, fire response and health & safety duties are performed by setting a calm, but best practice example.

Faultless and timely administration and record keeping of tasks, projects, maintenance and procurement in Hardcat, Poolcar, Tech1 and other relevant systems will be essential for business continuity and risk management purposes. Accurate fleet management and reporting will be a key component of responsibilities.

The Operations Coordinator will work closely with team members, provide clear direction and take onboard team members ideas and suggestions. The Operations Coordinator is the ultimate can-do person
