**About the Role**

We have a permanent, full-time**opportunity available to join our Prevention team as a** Senior Advisor.**

The primary purpose of the role is to lead or provide oversight of the development of thought leadership and expert advice on immunisation to senior leaders and ministers, including drafting complex briefings and memos. This includes coordinating input from stakeholders across health agencies, working across directorates and/or providing support to scope and shape the development of advice being drafted by less experienced staff.

The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

The Immunisation Programme Team as part of the wider immunisation team is focused on delivering equitable childhood immunisation services in an integrated and whānau-centred approach.

**About you**

You come with experience in providing intellectual and strategic leadership for work programmes, excellent interpersonal skills and the relationship management skills needed to foster good stakeholder relationships. You have excellent understanding of the machinery of government and governance and a strong understanding of policy implementation including the operationalisation of policy decisions.
- A relevant tertiary qualification, or equivalent experience (e.g., health, public health, epidemiology, informatics)
- Needs to draw on extensive specialised work experience typically supported with professional qualifications -- 5-6 years
- Leadership experience, including designing and managing a portfolio of work, and resources
- A preference for experience in working across multi-disciplinary teams
- Experience leading and influencing the development of and leading out on operational policy
- Able to handle technical and clinical information
- With the support of Health NZ, you will proactively take care of your own health and safety, to ensure a safe and supportive work environment
