We're looking for a motivated and strategic Senior Policy Advisor to help shape the policies, partnerships, and insights that support business leadership on sustainability and climate action.

About the Role:

As a Senior Policy Advisor, you'll help shape the ideas, insights, and relationships that influence the sustainability agenda across Aotearoa. You'll work closely with members, government, and partner organisations to turn complex challenges into practical solutions and compelling policy positions.

You'll thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, bringing your sound knowledge of both government and business together.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the development of policy advice, submissions, and thought leadership on climate and sustainability issues.

  • Provide strategic advice to senior leaders and contribute to external advocacy and engagement.

  • Build strong relationships with members, government officials, and key stakeholders.

  • Translate technical or policy detail into clear, persuasive content for reports, events, and communications.

  • Contribute to projects, campaigns, and events that accelerate progress toward New Zealand's low-emissions goals.

What You'll Bring:

  • Experience in policy, public affairs, or advocacy, within a corporate, industry association, or government organisation (ideally 7+ years).

  • Strong analytical, writing, and relationship-building skills.

  • A sound understanding of how business and government interact to shape policy.

  • The ability to juggle multiple priorities and work proactively in a small, high-performing team.

  • A genuine interest in helping business play a leading role in New Zealand's transition to a sustainable future.
