**Your New Opportunity**:
A rare opportunity has arisen for an experienced sales and business development specialist to take a position on the NZ leadership team and enable critical business growth in the newly created position of National Off Highway Manager. In this senior management position you will report to the General Manager - Penske NZ. You will work closely with our business segment experts both in New Zealand and Australia to enhance current and develop new sales strategies and implement execution plans to maintain, develop and exceed Penske New Zealand's off highway business plan and sales budget. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is flexibility for the position to be based in either our Auckland or Tauranga branch.
**Specific Job Duties**:
- To refine current and develop new sales strategies to grow the off highway business unit within Penske New Zealand;
- Develop the off highway sales budget and plan for each financial year and play a pivotal role in ensuring alignment with the overall strategic business plan;
- Maintain direct responsibility for the professional management of existing key accounts ensuring maximum customer satisfaction is achieved;
- Be the primary contact with product suppliers in respect of contractual negotiations concerning supply, pricing and other related matters;
- Be accountable for the negotiation, tender & quotation process and sales outcomes of major customer contracts and tenders;
- Tightly manage inventory and unit stock plans to ensure company budgets are met, stock turn parameters are achieved, obsolescence is kept at zero and profitability is maximized;
- Establish and promote a positive, proactive customer centric sales culture across the business including appropriate development and training initiatives.
- Lead Penske's introduction into new off highway markets, with an end goal of increasing market share;
- Prepare market intelligence studies and reports to management on a monthly basis;
- Oversee new product releases for off highway products and initiatives and maintain a general overview of advertising and promotional functions;
- Contribute to and support measures to enhance and develop Penske New Zealand off highway business promotional activities and corporate image;
- Participate in relevant industry conferences and seminars such as field days, boat shows and maintain professional memberships within relevant off highway sectors;
- Be the off highway health and safety champion, coach manage and mentor employees on a zero harm enviroment of safety first, job second.
- Be an active and responsible member of the Penske New Zealand Leadership Team.
**About You**:
Applicants will offer a proven sales and marketing background at a senior management level from
either the marine, mining, defence or relevant equipment manufacturing/distribution industries. Wide business experience and extensive knowledge of off highway activities, including experience in the sales, distribution and marketing of diesel engines is highly preferable. Customer relationship management and technical proficiency are essential skills required to be successful in this role. You will also have well developed skills in managing change, leading business model reviews and implementing new sales strategies to achieve business growth.
