**About this role**
Do you have a passion for leading complex projects? We have a unique opportunity for Highway Design Manager who will be responsible for supporting the development of business and the successful delivery of projects in the New Zealand roads market. This includes understanding the market, the needs of existing and potential clients, and the total proposition on offer from the firm. They will provide leadership to their technical team and promote the successful delivery of the required engineering design and related products to the satisfaction of our clients.
**What will I do?**
- You will be responsible for the overall performance of projects and the people that work within them, promoting co-operation between teams to enable effective utilisation of resources.
- You will be accountable for one or more areas of technology or discipline function. Within this area you will be required to promote learning opportunities from successes and problems that arise.
- You will represent Arup at internal and external meetings, maximising the relationships developed with clients.
- You will be responsible for executing responsibilities as outlined in Arup’s Quality Management System.
- You will set and meet agreed budgets and deadlines. In addition, you will be accountable for managing the financial performance of specified areas.
**What will I bring?**
- Proven industry experience in highway design and management within a New Zealand consulting business environment.
- Proven experience in delivery of significant roading infrastructure within a multitude of contracting frameworks (eg: Design and Construct, Alliance etc) within the New Zealand Roading market.
- Chartership (CPEng NZ) within the relevant professional institutions/professional peer bodies.
- Established design delivery track record and relationships with NZTA or equivalent road entities in NZ.
- Waka Kotahi Road Safety Auditor and Crash Reduction Study Trained and Accrede preferred.
