**Your New Opportunity**:
A rare, full time opportunity has arisen for an experienced truck sales person to join our Sales team as the National Fleet Sales Manager. In this role you will report to the Retail Sales Manager (Auckland) and be part of a national sales team. There will be no employees directly reporting to this role. This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. There is flexibility for the position to be based in either our Auckland or Tauranga branches. The successful applicant will provide specialist sales and account management of Penske New Zealand trucks and aftersales products direct to our key fleet customers throughout NZ. You will also be responsible for business development and relationship management to ensure maximum customer satisfaction is achieved and overall sales and profitability objectives are met.

Specific Job Duties:

- To develop a strategy and business plan for the sale of commercial vehicles, products and services to fleet customers throughout NZ in line with budgeted targets.
- Be accountable for the negotiation, tender & quotation process and sales outcomes of major fleet customer contracts and tenders.
- Review monthly sales performance, prepare and submit sales reports and identify barriers to performance with recommendations for improvement.
- Maintain direct responsibility for the professional management of existing key accounts ensuring maximum customer satisfaction is achieved.
- Actively seek out prospective customers that could be converted to Penske truck products and services by continually developing customer relationships.
- Be an active member of the truck sales team, by providing and receiving weekly updates relating to stock levels, market indicators, monthly specials, and competitor updates.
- Be the product champion for truck products and lead Penske's introduction into new markets, with an end goal of increasing market share.
- Develop and implement key sales initiatives, programmes, campaigns and techniques specifically for fleet customers, that support Penske sales and marketing efforts.
- Regularly share with fleet customers all applicable updates on product development, technical specifications, regional and national regulations, and industry developments.
- Participate in relevant industry conferences and seminars such as field days, truck shows etc.
- Contribute to the preparation, development and review of the annual sales budget and ensure alignment with the strategic business plan.
- Ensure new truck handover is conducted professionally and exceeds the expectations of our customers, our business and our brand to deliver exceptional customer service.

**About You**:
Other Specific Skills required:

- An extensive understanding of the heavy transport industry, specifications, regulations and legislation
- Significant experience in converting prospective customers and quotes to profitable sales and new business
- Financial and commercial acumen and confidence preparing tender documents for large key accounts.
- Proven ability to understand customer needs, and able to provide knowledgeable advice at all stages of the sales and post sales process.
- Previous demonstrable sales and business development experience.
- High level communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Proven ability to manage time and competing priorities effectively.
- Strong presentation and proposal development skills.
- High level problem solving and negotiation skills.
- HT licences would be preferable.
