**About the role**
- Install, configure and maintain software and hardware systems
- Proactively manage networks, servers and technology tools
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Own projects, solutions, and key responsibilities within a larger business initiative
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies

**You'll also**:

- Provide after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well as occasional weekend maintenance
- Interact with employees and customers at varying technical levels
- Stay current with technological developments in systems administration technology, and recommend solutions for Vista to take advantage of new technology
- Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation

**Requirements**:
**About you**

This is not a junior level role so, you'll need proven experience, as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar, managing:

- Microsoft Windows server environments including Active Directory
- Virtualisation platforms (VMware & Hyper-V)
- LAN, WAN, Firewall and VPN topologies and infrastructure
- Server & storage hardware platforms
- Cloud platforms (Azure/Office 365, AWS)

**You'll also have**:

- Knowledge of system security, cryptography and data backup/recovery are important
- Familiarity with deploying and managing various operating systems and platforms (Windows, Linux, MacOS, etc)
- Ability to create, maintain scripts in PowerShell (other scripting languages beneficial)
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline, and professional/industry certifications (e.g. Microsoft, VMware) are a plus
