**Mō te tūnga | About the role**:
An exciting new opportunity has arisen to provide high-quality Research Coordinator to **Vanushi Walters, MP.** This position offers real variety in coordinating research and advice to the MP. You need to be someone who’s inspired by compiling research from different sources, including current or past legislation, academic articles, media releases and the Parliament library.
Based in Parliament, you will have strong planning and coordination skills and provide support to enable your MP to successfully fulfil their responsibilities to Parliament and the public of New Zealand while gaining an insight to New Zealand's political landscape.
This role will include assisting with Shadow Attorney General work.
**Tō kete | What you will bring to the role**:
We are looking for someone who has a passion for Parliament and has previous experience in research and some expertise in admin responsibilities. If you do not have experience in this area, but you can quickly develop the rest of the skills required, we can provide you with the support, mentorship and training you need to succeed in this role. You will be known for your strong attention to detail, initiative, and ability to quickly come up to speed.
You will be comfortable dealing with people - typically as a first point of contact, be highly organised and love working within a collaborative team.
**Ngā haepapa | Responsibilities**:
- Coordinates research and advice to a member of Parliament.
- Compile and summarise research from different sources, as directed.
- Assemble and collate data and compile statistics.
- Assist with monitoring and summarising information which ensures the MP is well briefed and kept up to date in their portfolio(s) and/or areas of interest.

The pay band for the role starts at $67,600 per annum and appointments will be based on skills and experience. All employees who work for MPs are employed on an ‘events based’ agreement, with your employment linked to your MP. This role is based in the Parliamentary Precinct in Wellington for 8 hours per week,
