The Technical Support & Trainer provides specialist engineering and technical assistance for Daikin HVAC systems, including diagnostic support, component fault validation, and technical analysis for dealers, technicians, and end-users. The role also delivers technical training programs to ensure correct installation, operation, servicing, and fault-finding procedures are understood and applied in the field.

This position requires advanced knowledge of HVAC mechanical and electrical systems, strong diagnostic capability, and the ability to translate technical findings into accurate advice, reports, and structured training.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Technical Diagnostics & Engineering Support- Provide engineering-level technical support for HVAC systems, including remote diagnostics, troubleshooting, and interpretation of systems behaviour.
- Analyse faults using electrical/mechanical principles, technical manuals, schematics, and system data.
- Guide technicians on correct installation, commissioning, servicing, and rectification procedures for Daikin products.
- Provide recommendations for corrective actions in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry standards.
- Escalate complex technical issues to engineering or national support specialists with clear diagnostics notes.- Component Fault Validation & Technical Reporting- Coordinate the return and examination of faulty components for technical fault validation.
- Conduct detailed inspections using engineering knowledge to determine the likely root cause (manufacturing defect, installation error, wear, electrical failure, etc.)
- Prepare technical reports documenting fault analysis, system performance issues, and recommended corrective measures.
- Provide technical input to the warranty team for assessment and resolution of warranty claims.
- Collate and analyse system fault trends and recommend improvements to service processes or product handling.- Technical Training & Knowledge Transfer- Develop, update, and deliver technical training workshops for dealers, service technicians, installers, and internal staff.
- Create structured training modules covering system operation, diagnostics, installation standards, safety requirements, and error-code analysis.
- Provide on-site technical training when required to address complex issues or support new product releases.
- Maintain technical knowledge of new systems, refrigerants, control technologies, and diagnostic tolls through ongoing training and industry development.- Technical Documentation & System Support- Interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, refrigerant cycle schematics, and technical data sheets to provide accurate guidance.
- Use specialised technical materials and diagnostic tools to assess system performance.
- Ensure accurate entry of technical cases, diagnostic notes, and recommended actions into SAP and internal databases.
- Provide accurate, evidence-based technical explanations to stakeholders to ensure consistency and compliance.- Stakeholder Support & Communication- Build strong technical relationships with technicians, dealers, and trade professionals to enhance field accuracy and system reliability.
- Ensure all advice provided is technically sound, aligned with manufacturer specifications, and supports Daikin's engineering standards.
- Communicate technical findings and service implications clearly to internal departments including Warranty, Service, Operations, and Engineering.- Compliance, Safety, & Quality Assurance- Ensure all technical support and training complies with relevant HVAC, electrical safety, refrigeration, and industry regulations.
- Promote safe work practices and adherence to Daikin's technical and engineering standards.
- Identify recurring technical issues and recommend improvements to products, service manuals, or diagnostic approaches.**SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE**

- Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical and electrical components, refrigerant cycles, and system diagnostics.
- Ability to interpret engineering schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical service documentation.
- Proven experience in technical reporting, component fault analysis, or engineering support.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical information into practical guidance.
- Experience delivering technical training (deisrable).
- Familiarity with SAP or similar technical/warranty systems (desirable).

**QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE**

Level 4 Certificate (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Electrotechnology, Mechatronics, or a related engineering/technical field. OR at least three (3) years of relevant technical experience in HVAC, mechanical systems, refrigeration, electromechanical systems, or technical diagnostics/support.

Hours: Miminimum guaranteed hours of 30 per week.

Hourly Rate or Salary band: $28.50 to $35.00
