**About the Role** Join **Te Whānau o Waipareira** and help transform cancer care for Māori whānau in West Auckland. As a **Whanau Ora Nurse - Cancer Care**, you will walk alongside whānau through every stage of the cancer journey - from prevention and screening to diagnosis, treatment, and end-of-life care. This role is part of Ngā Ara Rima o te Haerenga Mate Pukupuku, our kaupapa Māori Cancer Coordination Service, designed to break down barriers, ensure cultural safety, and provide mana-enhancing care. You’ll work from our dedicated Cancer Care hub in Henderson and out in the community, empowering whānau with the knowledge, confidence, and support they need to navigate the health system. **Tasks and Responsibilities** In this role you will: - Provide expert, culturally safe nursing care and navigation for whānau affected by cancer - Coordinate screening, diagnostic, treatment, and palliative care pathways - Advocate for timely access to treatment and services, ensuring blocks in the system are addressed - Facilitate whānau hui with health professionals, cultural advisors, and support services - Deliver health promotion and education to improve prevention and early detection - Build strong relationships with whānau, healthcare providers, and community partners **Skills and Experience** We’re looking for someone who can blend clinical expertise with deep cultural understanding. You will have:Current NZ Registered Nurse qualification (or working towards registration) - Experience in primary care, community health, or cancer care - Understanding of Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori, with commitment to kaupapa Māori practice - Strong knowledge of community health services and networks - Proven ability to manage complex care coordination and navigate health systems - Full clean NZ driver’s licence **Why Join Us** At Te Whānau o Waipareira, you’ll be part of a passionate, skilled team making a real difference for Māori whānau every day.
