**About the Role**

Te Whānau o Waipareira is seeking a dedicated and passionate Housing Kaiārahi to join our Kōrure Whānau team in West Auckland. As a Housing Kaiārahi, your primary role is to support whānau by navigating the complexities of tenancy and housing challenges.

You will empower whānau to achieve their self-determined aspirations, linking them to the necessary support services and ensuring they have access to safe, secure, and sustainable housing. This role is essential in helping whānau maintain independence and enhancing their overall wellbeing.

**Key Tasks and Responsibilities**
- **Sustaining Tenancy**:

- Develop and implement whānau-led goal plans to secure long-term housing stability, reducing homelessness and reliance on emergency housing solutions.
- **Customer Services**:

- Provide high-level support and ensure that all whānau needs are met, upholding the values of Te Kauhau Ora.
- **Project Support** - Coordinate and support key projects within Kōrure Whānau, ensuring that deliverables are met on time.
- **Whānau Ora Navigation** - Conduct whānau assessments, develop whānau plans, and connect whānau to relevant services to address complex needs.
- **Risk Management** - Identify, mitigate, and report any risks associated with whānau support, ensuring a safe and secure environment for all.

**Your Skills and Experience**
- A full, clean New Zealand driver’s license is required.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in advocating for and supporting whānau.
- Relevant qualifications in health, social sciences, or humanities are desirable.
- A strong commitment to Te Reo me ngā Tikanga Māori, with the ability to speak Te Reo Māori preferred.
- Well-developed knowledge of community and service networks in the Waitākere region.

**Mana Motuhake (Our Goal)**

Te Whānau o Waipareira is a non-government organisation, operating locally in the heart of West Auckland. We are dedicated to creating generational change for urban Māori, delivering a broad spectrum of services in education, health, and social care.

**Waipareiratanga (The Waipareira Way)**

Here at the Whānau House, we do our mahi differently. As a new kaimahi, you will be warmly welcomed into a close-knit whānau, with networks spanning across the West Auckland region and beyond. We walk side-by-side with the Māori community, woven into a cross-generational story far bigger than oneself. As kaimahi, we take care of your wellbeing and provide a number of benefits:

- Fun, supportive, and flexible team-working environment.
- Various professional and career development opportunities.
- Locally based offices, near to public transport and shops.

A Waipareira career is YOUR opportunity to create a difference for whānau Māori
