The Senior Channel manager will be responsible for overseeing a team of six permanent staff plus contract staff as required, to transition existing content to the new website, as well as to plan, research, write and edit new content.

**He angitūtanga**: About the Role
TEC is developing a new online career planning website that will help people in Aotearoa to confidently make career plans for their life stage, constraints and challenges. This new website will replace the existing careers.govt.nz website, which is very popular with over 5 million sessions per year. The role will include:

- Ownership and development of the Content strategy for Tahatū, including occupation profiles, articles, videos and resources.
- Planning editorial, video and imagery content and translations and briefing writers and agencies
- Ensuring content is accessible and bilingual
- Provide strategic advice to the web development team, product manager and Careers Manager on content strategy, prioritisation and accessibility
- Actively seek data and feedback on performance of the product as an input into continuous improvement.
- Set and monitor key channel performance indicators and drive change to improve these
- Coach and mentor team members and train them in CMS.

**He kōrero mōu: What we are looking for**:

- Proven track record managing a consumer-facing website
- Team management experience - experience managing the workflow for a team of content writers
- Able to brief writers and an understanding of good imagery and video content
- Experience liaising with web developers for technical support
- The ability to make decisions and guide the direction of new content relevant for priority audiences.
- A good understanding of Content Management Systems and back-end development processes and structures
- Demonstrated success using strong relationship skills and the ability to engage and influence across the team and across the organisation
- A strong advocate for the customer, can represent their needs in a consistent and unbiased way

The salary range for this position starts from $132,290 up to $155,635 depending on demonstrable skills and experience.
