**About the role**
Genesis is on an ambitious journey to decarbonise our portfolio and accelerate the transition to renewable energy across Aotearoa. As our Senior Commercial Development Manager - Wind, you'll take a leading role in shaping the future of utility-scale wind generation in New Zealand.
Reporting to the Head of Generation Development, you'll drive the commercial strategy and development of wind projects from early-stage feasibility and site selection through to investment decisions and execution readiness. This is a senior, strategic role where you'll lead cross-functional teams, negotiate complex commercial arrangements, and ensure alignment with Genesis' long-term growth goals.
You'll work closely with internal stakeholders, iwi partners, regulators, landowners, and industry experts to identify opportunities, mitigate risks, and bring high-quality wind projects to life. This is a unique opportunity to lead nationally significant work that supports our renewable targets and builds a more sustainable energy future for generations to come.

**About you**
You're commercially astute, technically savvy, and deeply familiar with the nuances of large-scale renewable development especially wind. You bring both strategic vision and hands-on execution experience and thrive in dynamic, multi-stakeholder environments.
To be successful in this role, you'll bring:
- Significant experience in the energy sector, ideally in wind development or similar renewable infrastructure projects
- Deep understanding of the NZ electricity market and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated success in leading complex projects and negotiating commercial outcomes
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including experience with land access, and offtake agreements
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
