Te Aho o Te Kahu | Cancer Control Agency is responsible for providing strong central leadership and oversight of cancer control in Aotearoa New Zealand. The Cancer Control Agency was established in recognition of the impact cancer has on the lives of New Zealanders and the need to lead and unite efforts to deliver better cancer outcomes for Aotearoa New Zealand. It is a departmental agency, hosted by the Ministry of Health.
The agency's work is equity-led, person and whānau centred, knowledge-driven and outcomes-focused, taking a whole-of-system approach to preventing and managing cancer. The Chief Executive will lead the Cancer Control Agency in delivering better outcomes in Aotearoa New Zealand through its influential relationships, systems and capabilities that have been established since inception in 2019.
We are seeking a new Chief Executive for the Cancer Control Agency that can successfully continue to work and foster relationships across the health sector, with all nationalities and all those impacted by cancer, to continue to deliver the Cancer Action Plan. Through their leadership they will be able to develop and progress shared objectives and prioritisation of actions to address inequities in cancer outcomes for Māori and Pacific people.
The Chief Executive will think and plan strategically to advance Te Aho o Te Kahu | Cancer Control Agency within Aotearoa New Zealand. This will include being able to assemble and disseminate data, provide advice to government on all aspects of cancer prevention and management, which also includes effective investment to support improved cancer care.
