**Full-time, permanent role, based in Christchurch (preferred) or Wellington**
- **Provide and collate, synthesise information to support the development of nationwide planning of cancer services within the Hospital Funding portfolio.**
- **Accesses research and evidence.**
- **Work closely with the Business and System Intelligence team to ensure that planning work is supported with the right data.**

**About the Role**

The primary purpose of the role is to use qualitative and quantitative analytical skills and knowledge to support clinical service planning, working with Business and System intelligence team, Clinical Networks and the wider Hospital Funding team to ensure a nationally coherent approach.

The role is responsible for analysis of current performance, variation in access to care, forecasts of requirements for care and providing valuable insights to support the efficient and effective planning of cancer services.

**About the Service**

This role sits within the Hospital Funding function of the Planning, Funding and Outcomes Directorate, reporting to the Manager, Specialist Planning and Purchasing. The role works alongside a small group of health service planners. The team contributes to the functioning of the broader Hospital Funding team and engages with regional cancer service delivery teams and enabling functions including Digital Services, Workforce Planning, Health Technology and Infrastructure teams.

**About you**

You will have an interest in engaging with key stakeholders from around New Zealand to understand the requirements of health services now and into the future. You will engage well with people and complex ideas and be motivated to contribute to work that benefits New Zealanders' access to healthcare. You will communicate well, both in writing and verbally.

You will bring:

- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience.
- Experience in implementing Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action.
- Relevant longer-term experience specific to the job and work demands, acquired over time, 3-5 years.
- Knowledge of the machinery of government and policy development is desirable.
