The primary role of Logistics is the efficient distribution of car glass nationally to our network channel - our Smith and Smith branches and to our Authorised Dealers.

The role is responsible for the efficient management of our materials handling equipment (MHE) using track and trace technology, and the efficient dispatch of consignments every day. Additionally, you will the primary contact for our Authorized Dealer Network processing credits and receipting inwards from MHE received daily. You will be working closely with the logistics team in Penrose and Christchurch, coordinating the transport of our car glass, addressing any congestion quickly and efficiently. Working with our transport provider, a key function of the role will be to ensure sufficient equipment to dispatch glass daily at both sites. To ensure you always receive the right support, escalation of issues may be necessary from time to time, as the coordinator you will need to think on your feet and be able to problem solve and work autonomously.

The role provides you with a career pathway into logistics management and the opportunity to work cross-functionally in the logistics team both desk and warehouse-based broadening your knowledge and experience across the operation. You will be supported by your team and be provided the right tools to be successful.

We have a strong focus on teamwork, process compliance and working together to get everything done in our working day and week using typical KPI’s to measure our performance against industry norms.
