Job Title: Strategic Emergency Management Professional

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Advisor to join our team in Auckland. As a key member of our emergency management team, you will work closely with the National Manager - Emergency Management (Auckland) to develop and implement incident and emergency management arrangements.

Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate the development, implementation, and embedding of the Ministry's incident and emergency management arrangements.
- Collaborate with managers and senior leaders to test and refine emergency plans with business groups.
- Critically assess and provide credible suggestions for improving emergency management processes.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and build people capability to respond to emergencies.

Requirements:
- Extensive experience in emergency and incident management, including certification and/or training in this area.
- Superior relationship management, influencing, and problem resolution skills.
- Sound understanding of New Zealand's National Security System.
- Demonstrable experience of managing significant programmes of work.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including analytical thinking and expression of ideas clearly.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to work at all levels within the organisation, including with senior management.
- Ability to balance working in a team environment with independent operation when necessary.
- Must have the legal right to live and work in New Zealand and obtain a national security clearance at Secret level.
