Job Description

The Head of Strategic Finance role plays a pivotal part in driving our financial strategy and performance. As a key member of the Finance Senior Leadership Team (SLT), you will lead a forward-thinking team responsible for enabling the achievement of our financial objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and executing a financial business partnership strategy to support delivery of strategic aims through effective financial decision-making.
  • Leadership, guidance, and coaching of Finance Business Partnering (FBP) and Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams to maintain positive momentum of personal / professional development and ensure overall team objectives are met.
  • Building and maintaining relationships of credibility with the Executive Leadership Team, acting on an informed understanding of the business and external environment to provide articulate, informed finance advice and support.
  • Overseeing budgeting, planning, and forecasting processes, financial analysis, and integrated performance reporting.
  • Supporting decision-making with robust financial models, projections, and scenarios to meet long-term sustainable financial plans and short-term needs.
  • Developing strategic business cases that align with organisational goals and translate financial data into actionable insights.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Membership of CAANZ or equivalent.
  • Extensive senior leadership experience within a large complex organisation with demonstrable experience in leading and driving improved financial outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills and a leader of leaders.
  • Proven ability in developing relationships across a business and the ability to influence at senior levels and a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Sound knowledge and experience in best practice financial planning processes (budgeting, forecasting, long term financial planning), developing business cases, and strategic scenario analysis.
  • Strong strategic capability, change management practice, and commercial acumen.
