Support Young People in Residential Respite Setting

We have an exciting opportunity for a skilled Youth Support Specialist to join our team at Pathways Health Ltd. As a key member of our staff, you will be working directly with young people aged 12-18 in a residential respite setting.

Your primary focus will be on supporting their mental health through a trauma-informed lens, ensuring they feel safe and supported throughout their stay. This may involve assisting with daily living skills, helping plan and work towards individual goals, and participating in activities or outings that promote their well-being.

In addition to providing direct support, you will also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a wider team. Attending appointments and advocating for our young people's needs is also an essential aspect of this role.

Key Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly young people
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Valid New Zealand driver's license
