Key Responsibilities:
  • Support young people between the ages of 12-18 in a residential respite setting, focusing on mental health through a trauma-informed lens.
  • Assist with daily living skills, help plan and work towards individual goals, and participate in activities or outings.
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Attend appointments and advocate for our young people's needs.
  • Be prepared to perform various tasks such as cooking, cleaning, gardening, and helping with everyday responsibilities.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience working with young people and understanding of trauma-informed care.
  • Strong de-escalation and relationship-building skills.
  • CURRENT FULL New Zealand driver's license.
  • Knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and commitment to them.
