Mental Health Respite Worker

**Job Description**
We are looking for a dedicated and passionate individual to join our team as a Mental Health Respite Worker. This role involves supporting young people in a residential setting, focusing on mental health and well-being.
The successful candidate will have experience working with young people, a deep understanding of trauma-informed care, and excellent communication skills. They will be able to work collaboratively with colleagues, attend appointments, and advocate for our taiohi.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work alongside young people in a residential respite setting, providing emotional support and guidance.
- Help develop life skills, promote resilience, and foster positive relationships with whanau, friends, and communities.
- Participate in daily activities, outings, and goal-setting with our taiohi.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure high-quality care and support for our clients.
Requirements:
- Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or recognized equivalent.
- Have experience in working with young people and understanding of trauma-informed care.
- Possess de-escalation skills, relationship-building skills, and a current full New Zealand driver's license.
- Hold a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be willing to obtain one.
- Demonstrate knowledge of, and commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
