Support young people in a residential respite settingEarn up to $29.83 per hour + other benefitsDo you thrive in working alongside taiohi and supporting them to build life skills, resilience, and strong connections with their whanau, friends, and communities?The role of the youth worker involves working alongside the taiohi to meet their day-to-day needs and supporting them on their journey to reach their full potential in ways which recognize and celebrate the mana of the young person.In this role you will:Support young people between the ages of 12-18 in a residential respite setting with a core focus on supporting their mental health through a trauma-informed lens.Support young people with independent daily living skills, help them plan and work towards individual goals, and assist them with activities or outings.Demonstrate good people skills and the ability to work independently and within a wider team.Attend appointments and advocate for our taiohi.Be prepared to do whatever it takes for the people we support - cooking, cleaning, gardening, and helping with everyday tasks.You will:Hold a Level 4 New Zealand Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZCHW) or a recognized equivalent or be studying towards a recognized equivalent.Have experience in working with young people and an understanding of trauma-informed care.Possess both de-escalation skills and relationship-building skills.Hold a current full New Zealand driver's license.Hold a current New Zealand first aid certificate or be prepared to obtain one.Have knowledge of, and demonstrable commitment to, the principles of the Te Tiriti o Waitangi.Closing Date | Ra Katinga: 17 April 2025.
