The Role:
We are seeking an experienced Treaty Relationships Advice Manager to lead our advice, coordination, planning, and reporting efforts in support of nationally led iwi relationships. The role will focus primarily on the Ngai Tahu relationship, with additional responsibilities for providing general advice and support to other Treaty Partner relationships. You will be working closely with Senior Managers and people leadership to achieve this goal.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a deep understanding of the impact DOC has on the Maori Crown relationship and the obligations of the Crown under the Treaty of Waitangi. You will also be knowledgeable about the range of current Maori views and aware of the differences between Maori and non-Maori world views. Strong communication and relationship management skills are essential, including experience working with senior managers, iwi, and tangata whenua. A sound understanding of te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo will enable you to engage and work in partnership with iwi and tangata whenua.

Your Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice on Treaty relationships and obligations
* Coordinate planning and reporting efforts in support of nationally led iwi relationships
* Work closely with Senior Managers and people leadership to achieve goals
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with iwi and tangata whenua
* Provide general advice and support to other Treaty Partner relationships
