Our vision is for nature to thrive in Aotearoa, and we work towards this goal by ensuring that activities occurring on public conservation land comply with legislation and protect the values of the land.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert advice on the application of Treaty principles to Permissions Advisors and decision-makers.
  • Contribute to the development of operational policy and best practice in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • Identify training needs and work towards a consistent national approach to train and mentor staff.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of Treaty principles.
  • Experience working with planning and legislative processes.
  • Experience working with relevant conservation legislation.
  • Ability to analyse complex information and produce high-quality reports and recommendations.
  • Experience managing a busy caseload.
