Job Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Senior Permissions Treaty Advisor to provide expert advice on the use of conservation land and interactions with protected wildlife. This role is ideal for someone with a strong understanding of Treaty principles and experience working with planning and legislative processes.
About the Role:
As a key member of our Permissions Teams, you will contribute to the development of operational policy and best practice in relation to the Treaty of Waitangi. You will also work towards a consistent national approach to train and mentor staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice to Permissions Advisors and decision makers on the application of Treaty principles.
- Regulate the use of conservation land and interactions with protected wildlife.
- Work closely with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with conservation legislation.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to the use of conservation land.
- Analyze complex data to inform recommendations and decisions.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
